This Tuesday, June 17, 2025, some 30 students from vocational education establishments in Oise discovered, in preview, the result of their sound work put into images during the new exhibition at the Maison du Canal in Compiègne "Listening to the Canal".
It is within the framework of a partnership agreement* signed between theNational Education and Seine-Nord Canal Company Europe, that this artistic and cultural project concretely translates ambitions educational shared, was offered to high schools and colleges in Oise this year.
Aiming to promote the appropriation of the CSNE and involve young people, the project mobilized reading and orality in order to create a real sound journey on the Canal.
Five establishments responded to the call! Six classes took part in the exercise of recording readings of texts or poems and one of them has made podcasts on the professions linked to the Seine-Nord Europe Canal construction site. This artistic and civic project has allowed students to discover the Canal, but also texts by poets such as those of Jacques Darras, while working on their oral expression and "their autonomy" as highlighted by Madame Turblin, a teacher at the Paul Langevin high school in Beauvais, involved in this project.
It is in the presence of the Rector of the Amiens Academy, Pierre Moya, that the students involved in this project discovered the fruits of their involvement at the opening of the exhibition. Students from the Paul Langevin high schools in Beauvais, the Mireille de Grenet high school in Compiègne and the Marie Curie vocational high school in Nogent-sur-Oise were able to discover their staged sound creations and also attend a reading by Jacques Darras, who shared with them his "tribute to the Oise".
A friendly and warm moment, ideal for celebrating the commitment of students and their teachers... as well as the end of the school year ahead.
This exhibition is at discover at the Compiègne Canal House until August 2, 2025. Come in your numbers!
La Compiègne Canal House welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday de 10 to 12 hours 30/XNUMX and 13h30 to 17h.
