Call for applications for the scientific and technical committee of the SCSNE

The Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company has decided to create a scientific and technical committee.

The Scientific and Technical Committee is an independent expert body responsible for giving an opinion to the SCSNE Executive Board on specific questions formulated by the SCSNE on the design of the Seine-Nord Europe canal at the AVP (preliminary draft) and PRO (project). In particular, it decides on proposals for program modifications, the quality of the technical solutions, the technical optimization of the project, the construction costs, the management of construction risks and the consideration in the design of maintenance and maintenance.

The scientific and technical committee reports to the board of directors of the SCSNE.

The Scientific and Technical Committee was set up by decision of the SCSNE Board of Directors No. D2018-07 which defines the role, composition and operating rules of this committee:

The scientific and technical committee comprises 3 commissions thus constituted:

  • an “earth works” commission competent in the design and construction of canals and water storage works (earth works, waterproofing, safety of hydraulic works, etc.);
  • a “locks-operations-maintenance” commission responsible for the design and construction of locks and the operation and maintenance of waterways;
  • a "structures" committee competent in the construction of structures and canal bridges.

Following the resignation of Mr. Paul ROYET, appointed to the presidency of the CTPBOH, the SCSNE is looking for a member for the earthworks commission.

The profiles sought are as follows:

Hydraulic structures expert: engineer with at least 15 years of experience in the design and construction of earth structures for the storage and supply of water. In-depth knowledge of the mechanical characteristics of materials, implementation conditions, construction methods and pathologies. In-depth knowledge of the regulations on the safety of hydraulic structures.

Waterproofing geotechnical expert: engineer with at least 15 years of experience in the design and construction of earthworks for the storage and conveyance of water. Diversified references in sealing devices.
