Hydraulic works safety project manager

The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE), a local public establishment, is in charge of public project management of the future large-gauge 107 kilometer canal, an essential link in the major European waterway project called Seine-Escaut.

SCSNE is a young company (operational since 2017), dynamic, on a human scale, now with more than 90 employees who, each in their field of expertise, participate in the management and coordination of a major European project combining safety, performance, respect for the environment and innovation.

SCSNE is recruiting 4 hydraulic works safety project managers to form a team in direct contact with the Director of Hydraulic Works Safety

The Hydraulic Works Safety Project Manager, for the scope assigned to him/her, is responsible for monitoring the requirements of the environmental authorization order regarding the safety of hydraulic works for all phases of the project. As the key contact for the instructing services, he/she is responsible for monitoring the opinions of approved organizations and ensures consistency between the different dams for which he/she is responsible.

Your mission

Within a project team and in functional liaison with the sector directors, your activities are structured around the following main axes:

  • Ensure the proper preparation of regulatory documents relating to the safety of hydraulic structures (Dam Technical Order) during the design phase, in conjunction with the approved MOE body
  • Ensure that the necessary authorizations in the field of hydraulic works are duly obtained
  • Ensure that hydraulic works regulations are taken into account in company consultation files
  • Contribute to public procurement procedures in his/her area of ​​expertise, in conjunction with the Public Procurement Department and the Sector Department
  • Manage the monitoring of environmental authorization requirements regarding the safety of hydraulic structures (SOH)
  • Organize SOH activity with project managers and approved organizations in its area of ​​expertise by optimizing the use of IT tools used by SCSNE and ensuring compliance with costs, deadlines and risks
  • Participate in the sectoral COPIL but also as needed in meetings with the State Services in its area of ​​competence, and governance body and meeting of the SCSNE
  • Be involved in the reception of works before filling with water (certificate of suitability for filling with water)

 

This position, based in Compiègne, is open to teleworking 2 days per week

Your profile

You have a Bac+5 level education in the fields of geotechnics, hydrogeology or hydraulics and have the essential knowledge in civil engineering and earthworks.

Rigorous, responsive, with solid analytical and synthesis skills, you enjoy working in project mode and across departments.

You also know the fundamental principles of the public procurement code, both in terms of awarding contracts and in terms of execution.
