Prevention technician

The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE), a local public establishment, is in charge of public project management of the future large-gauge 107 kilometer canal, an essential link in the major European waterway project called Seine-Escaut.

SCSNE is a young company (operational since 2017), dynamic, on a human scale, now with more than 90 employees who, each in their field of expertise, participate in the management and coordination of a major European project combining safety, performance, respect for the environment and innovation.

The Prevention Technician works within the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Department. They are required to work across departments with all of SCSNE's internal staff. Externally, due to the challenge of preventing occupational risks during construction, they are required to interact with all stakeholders on the construction site.

He/she ensures the relay of the general prevention policy in matters of hygiene, health and safety to the operational actors of the Project. He/she provides operational expertise on all subjects relating to the field of prevention with a constant concern for continuous improvement.

Your mission

Your activities revolve around the following main areas:

Main activities

  • Ensure the safety reception of new SCSNE employees, both on safety issues inside the premises and on safety instructions when moving around the site.
  • Contribute to the involvement of SCSNE employees in the prevention of occupational risks: contribution to bi-weeklies, safety flashes, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and running of training and/or awareness sessions in the field of prevention on the construction site: ¼ hour safety or equivalent, CISSCT, Canal Prevention Passport, etc.
  • Ensure the updating of documentation relating to safety and the assessment of professional risks internally.
  • Report to management any incidents, near misses and dangerous situations observed on the site and contribute to the search for corrective solutions.
  • Alert the hierarchy as soon as he notices or is brought to his attention a fact calling into question the safety of those working on site.
  • Complete the tables allowing the updating of the project's safety indicators by aggregating the MOE and Company data (table for monitoring 1/4 hours, safety visits, etc.)
  • In terms of accidents, organize feedback with all stakeholders to enable the drafting of reliable accident investigations and conclusions
  • Actively participate in the drafting and verification of prevention documents.
  • Actively contribute to the management of prevention in matters of pyrotechnics, and in particular to pyrotechnic awareness raising, reports of the discovery of devices and the management of contracts concluded in this area.
  • Contribute to carrying out cross-health and safety audits within the project and ensure, during visits, that all subjects of interest to the Project Owner are followed up.
  • Participate in the improvement of the quality management system through specific meetings.

 

This position, based in Compiègne, is open to teleworking 2 days per week.

Frequent travel throughout the project's geographical area.

Your profile

With a Bac + 2 qualification or equivalent, you have developed solid knowledge of safety on public works sites over the course of your experience.

You also have knowledge of the key provisions of the labor code regarding the prevention of occupational risks.

Responsive, proactive, with easy interpersonal skills, you have the ability to work cross-functionally internally and externally.

You are recognized for your teaching skills and you enjoy contributing to the development of collective skills and know how to transmit a culture of prevention.

Methodical and rigorous, you are able to assess a situation, alert if necessary and report clearly and concisely.
