The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe has chosen its prime contractors for sectors 2,3,4

The Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company has notified the project management contracts for the design and monitoring of the earthworks, engineering structures and communication restorations (road and rail bridges) of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal for sectors 2, 3 and 4 (from Passel to Aubencheul-au-Bac).

Sectors 2 (from Passel to Allaines) and 4 (from Etricourt-Manancourt to Aubencheul-au-Bac) have been awarded to the ONE Business Group, led by EGIS International in conjunction with INGEROP Conseil & Ingénierie, ISL Ingénierie, SBE, Michel Desvigne Paysagiste and NEY Partners.

Sector 3 (from Allaines to Etricourt-Manancourt) was awarded to the consortium led by ARCADIS ESG in conjunction with SWECO Belgium and Explorations Architecture.

These project management contracts will be spread over a period of more than 10 years for a maximum total amount of 84 million euros excluding tax.

This new stage will result in the launch of preliminary design studies on these 89 kilometers of canal with European gauge.

Contracts that are part of the Grand Chantier approach

In order to maximize local spin-offs, these contracts provide that the winning companies set up technical platforms (offices) within a radius of 30 minutes around the headquarters of the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe located in Compiègne for sectors 2 and 3 and Lille for sector 4.

These two contracts also include an integration clause which provides that the companies that have won the contract undertake to hire people who are far from employment. This approach is part of the Canal Solidaire system supported by the departments, which aims to support local employment and sustainable integration. Since the beginning of the studies, 15 people have already been integrated, thanks to the integration clauses, into a path of sustainable return to employment.
