The first Canal House has opened its doors on the route of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal (CSNE).
Located in Compiègne, at the junction between the MAGEO project (European Standardization of the Oise) and the CSNE, you will discover a permanent exhibition which presents the project as a whole as well as a section dedicated to the Compiègne area.
Temporary themed exhibitions are also organized there 2 to 3 times a year, as well as workshops, conferences, and drop-in sessions! One Thursday afternoon a month, from 14 pm to 17 pm, and one Saturday morning per semester, from 10 am to 12:30 pm , come and ask your questions about the works, the route, the structures, job opportunities…

A tangible result of a partnership with the French Ministry of Education, the " Listening to the Canal " exhibition, presented from June 17 to August 2, 2025, showcased the work of middle and high school students from five local schools, inspired by the Seine-Nord Europe Canal. The temporary exhibition, running from March 4 to April 30, 2025, showcased the environmental measures implemented in Sector 1 of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal. Between November 6, 2024, and January 4, 2025, the exhibition "From One Bank to the Other: New Bridges in the Compiègne Region" retraced the construction of the first structures of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal in the Compiègne area. It also featured a retrospective film of the operations carried out over the past two years.
For the first time, a game booklet "On the Canal Bridges" was available to test your knowledge as a family after the exhibition.

Between Compiègne and Passel, work on the Seine-Nord Europe Canal has been underway since 2021. Construction of quays, roundabouts, bridges, etc. François, Carlos, Jeff… and the others, are participating in the creation of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal and its developments.
For the duration of a photo exhibition, you had the opportunity to discover the people who make the Canal a reality in the Compiègne region. The second temporary exhibition of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company was held at the Canal House in Compiègne from March 5 to April 30, 2024, and then again from June 11 to August 03, 2024. For this new edition, the exhibition was supplemented with information on career opportunities along the Canal, framed by the Grand Chantier (Major Project) initiative.
The first temporary exhibition by the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company, entitled "In the Nature of the Canal," ran from November 15, 2020, to January 31, 2024. Dedicated to the water and environment of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, it addressed the environmental issues central to its creation, from its design to its operation. When and how is the canal filled? How does the canal conserve water resources? How are flora and fauna taken into account? How does the canal integrate into its environment?

The Maison du Canal de Compiègne welcomes you on the site of the former Staff College, within the premises of the Maison des Projets de l'Agglomération de la Région de Compiègne, 27 Place d'Armes – Compiègne (see map below), from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm and from 13:30pm to 17pm.
