On its route between Compiègne and Passel, the Canal will be equipped with three new transhipment quays, a lock and seven road crossings (eleven bridges) to ensure the connection between the municipalities on its two banks.
Located in the municipalities of Cambronne-lès-Ribécourt and Montmacq, the Montmacq / Cambronne-lès-Ribécourt lock provides the junction between the downstream and upstream reaches of sector 1.
This will now be the only lock for boats between Compiègne and Pont-L'Évêque.
This represents a time saving of half an hour, which, combined with the widening of the waterway allowing for higher speeds, will save around an hour of navigation time between Compiègne and Pont-L'Évêque!
To maintain the roads in Compiégnois, three new bridges crossing the Canal were built. Four pre-existing bridges are rebuilt to the CSNE template and four other bridges on the side canal to the Oise or the Oise, are rebuilt to align with those of the Canal.

Over the 15 km of its route between Passel and Libermont, the Canal will cross thirteen municipalities, Passel and Pont-l'Evêque also being affected by sector 1. It will be equipped with an inland port, two locks and ten road crossings . A bridge spanning a hundred meters will allow the Paris – Noyon railway line to cross the Canal.
The Canal will access the Noyonnais plain by crossing a large step of more than 21 meters: the lock of Noyon. 8 km further on, the Catigny lock will give access to the longest reach of the Canal – 39,2 km to the Allaines lock. The integration of the two locks into the environment has been the subject of landscape studies, in particular with the Architect of the Buildings of France of the Oise for the lock of Noyon.
Straddling the towns of Sermaize and Catigny, along the RD 934, the Noyonnais inland port will be built alongside a 400m quay on the Canal. It will pave the way for river logistics, innovative and sustainable, to the major distribution players and to the industrial and agricultural sectors present in the territory, for their exchanges at national and international level.
To ensure the connection between the municipalities of the two banks of the Noyon Canal, it will be spanned by ten road bridges. The Paris – Noyon train line will cross the Canal at Passel and Pont-l'Evêque on a railway bridge built by SNCF Réseau.

Soft paths, leisure and tourism facilities near the Canal, conversion of existing canals in the long term… additional facilities are being studied to make the CSNE an opportunity for sustainable development for the area. All the local actors are involved and if these projects enter into a global coherence, the financial partners of the SCSNE (the State, the Hauts-de-France Region and the Oise Department) can financially support their implementation. work.
