After a year 2024 marked by obtaining environmental authorization for sectors 2 to 4 of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal (from Passel in Oise to Aubencheul-au-Bac in the North), and the continuation of the first works to the south of the route in Oise (sector 1), 2025 will be a good year for launching a majority of calls for tenders for works.
This is no less than a twenty consultations which is scheduled for publication on the premier 2025 semester by the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company. Among them, the main markets for the excavation of the Canal and the development of its restorations, but also for the construction of its locks, monumental works which will require several years of work.
At the end of 3th quarter 2024, 86 public markets were active on the Canal, mobilizing 117 award-winning companies, including 38% from Hauts-de-France.
The Grand Chantier approach and its Canal Entreprises system, helps regional businesses to seize these business opportunities offered by the Canal. The Hauts-de-France Region and the Hauts-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry support them at every stage, informing them about the project, facilitating their access to markets and providing them with tailor-made tools and assistance to meet their monitoring, training, recruitment and financing needs.
In September 2024, 2720 companies in Hauts-de-France have already contacted Canal Entreprises since the beginning of 2021 and 348 of them have been supported. Nearly 1000 companies are also already listed on the CCI Business platform, which connects companies and clients.
