Assistant Management Controller on a work-study basis

The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE), a local public establishment, is in charge of public project management of the future large-gauge 107 kilometer canal, an essential link in the major European waterway project called Seine-Escaut.

SCSNE is a young company (operational since 2017), dynamic, on a human scale, with nearly 80 employees who, each in their field of expertise, participate in the management and coordination of a major European project combining security , performance, respect for the environment and innovation.

Within the Audit – Management Control department, you assist the project manager in charge of financing, management control and cost control.

Your mission

Main activities

Directly linked to the European financing project manager – management control and cost control, your mission is structured around the following activities:

  • Collect data relating to costs concerning the progress of the current construction site south of the route from the Technical Management and the Project Management Assistant (AMO)
  • Identify and extract relevant data in order to organize a regular feedback of information from existing deliverables for the remaining 5 geographic sectors, still in the study phase
  • Assist the European financing project manager – management control and cost control in the creation of a reporting tool for synthetic monitoring of data and cost impacts aimed at enlightening and informing the Project Management Directorate (MOA) in his outfit
  • Support the European financing project manager – management control and cost control in the process of dialogue between the financial department, management control, the technical teams and the various MOA professions to analyze and make the volume of information reported reliable to the MOA, in particular that produced by the AMO

 

Secondary Activities

  • Work on the development of a “Monte Carlo” type modeling tool applied to planning to generate probabilized cost-to-completion scenarios
  • Work on the development of a tool for monitoring the progress of the technical milestones of the project as part of the management of European financing of the project

Your profile

You are currently at the end of an engineering cycle or in a Master's/Specialized Master's degree in an engineering school or at the end of your cycle in a business school with a major in corporate finance, management control or management management. project.

Familiar with the fundamentals of corporate finance and management control, you have knowledge of project management and cost monitoring (earned value method).

You are proactive, curious and creative.

You are rigorous and methodical in structuring a large volume of technical and financial data.

You are able to analyze contractual and normative documentation.

You have a capacity for synthesis to produce presentations and dashboards intended to effectively inform the Management Board of the Project cost situation.

You are proficient in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

You have knowledge of writing VBA macros.

 

This position is based at the SCSNE headquarters in Compiègne (60). It is open to teleworking two to three days per week in compliance with the rules set by the SCSNE teleworking charter.

Travel is to be expected in Brussels with the apprenticeship master.
