Contract Manager (F/M)

The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE), a local public establishment, is in charge of public project management of the future large-gauge 107 kilometer canal, an essential link in the major European waterway project called Seine-Escaut.

SCSNE is a young company (operational since 2017), dynamic, on a human scale, with nearly 80 employees who, each in their field of expertise, participate in the management and coordination of a major European project combining security , performance, respect for the environment and innovation. 

Joining the SCSNE means joining a team that works collectively for the success of this project!

Due to the high stakes of the project, SCSNE is recruiting Contract Managers, within its Legal Affairs Department, to secure the performance of the various works contracts in the execution phase or in the process of being awarded and defend the interests of the SCSNE.

Your mission

Your main mission is to manage the contracts entrusted to you for which you are the referent. As such, you contribute significantly to the management of the project in its contractual aspect and associated risks.

You carry out your action transversally within a project team within the framework of a matrix operation, in direct link with the sectors of the Technical Department.

Your mission revolves around the following activities:

  • Identify contractual risks and obligations upon award of the contract to raise awareness among operational teams and propose a management strategy for each contract with adapted and shared tools that you contribute to developing or developing
  • Write contractual correspondence and contribute to the preparation of the various committees and governance and contract management bodies
  • Alert the technical teams in the event of risks of non-compliance of services with contractual requirements, deviations in completion costs (additional costs linked to various events: planning deviation, external risk impacts, etc.)
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of entrusted files and implement internal reporting
  • Prepare documentary elements related to claims, pre-litigation, or even litigation
  • Analyze and process requests for contractual modifications, additional remuneration and complaints. In this context, you identify the negotiation levers and propose negotiation strategies, if necessary in conjunction with the various internal expertise
  • Participate in internal or external meetings related to the management of entrusted contracts
  • Ensure interfaces with possible external advisors

 

In support of buyers in the context of consultation markets, you can be involved, depending on the need, in the analysis of all the market documents and the identification of the associated risks.

Finally, you contribute internally to the development and appropriation of a contract management culture, in particular by designing and/or leading training or awareness sessions.

Your profile

With a bac+5 level in engineering school, business school or law, you have initial experience in the construction sector, ideally within establishments responsible for infrastructure project management or engineering or construction companies.

Familiar with complex environments with significant financial, technical and legal issues, you have a real interest and a good understanding of the constraints of public works.

You have a good knowledge of the public procurement code and the CCAG Works.

Rigorous, autonomous and proactive, you have proven writing skills and an analytical mind.

You appreciate working in project mode and your interpersonal skills combined with your negotiation skills allow you to interact effectively with different stakeholders, both internal and external.

 

Position open to teleworking 2 to 3 days per week.
