In the Noyon region, work on the Seine-Nord Europe Canal has begun. It began in 2024 after obtaining the environmental authorization order for sectors 2 to 6 of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, issued by the State on August 9, 2024.
Today, a new public survey is organized in Passel and Pont-l'Évêque, specifically for the developments required to cross the future Canal by the Creil – Jeumont railway line, providing train connections to Paris, Noyon and Saint-Quentin. These works, carried out under the project management of SNCF Réseau, are also subject to the rules of the Environmental Code. They are the subject of a separate environmental authorization request and a dedicated public inquiry. To the extent that they are part of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal project, it is the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe that is submitting the authorization request.
Prior to the environmental authorization order and the start of work, this public inquiry will take place from September 8 to October 9, 2025. This is an important step in the environmental permit application process required to begin work. It aims to inform residents and local stakeholders about the environmental approach being taken and to gather their comments. Your perspective is valuable, your opinion counts!
During the public environmental inquiry, the investigating commissioner makes the means of obtaining information and expressing oneself available to everyone.
