Since the summer of 2021, the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe has engaged a process of dialogue with the inhabitants of Catigny in order to involve them in the design of major developments planned for their municipality.
The objective for the SCSNE is to be able to restore, at the end of the work on the Canal, a quality living and working environment for the population and farmers.
Several meetings have already been held:
Several subjects were worked on: insertion of the Catigny lock and the anti-intumescence basin, construction of a landscaped merlon, installation of security fences, road restoration and pathways. The approach implemented in Catigny has thus enabled to improve the insertion of the Canal and to achieve a coherent project that respects the Commune and its inhabitants.
As part of the finalization of studies in this sector, the SCSNE will continue its discussions with the municipality, particularly with a view to the construction phase which will begin by 2024.
