The partners of the Démarche Grand Chantier, and in particular the leaders of the systems concerned, the Hauts-de-France Region, the Hauts-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pôle emploi – Hauts-de-France regional management and the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe, signed this Thursday 1er April 2021, the “Canal Entreprises”, “Canal Emploi” and “Canal Formation” conventions. This event marks the launch of the visible phase around this site, thanks to the concrete measures put in place to support businesses and residents of the region to seize the business and employment opportunities of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal.

The Seine-Nord Europe Canal is up to 6000 jobs at the peak of construction, including around 3000 people recruited specifically for the canal. Among them, professionals to recruit et people to train : job seekers, young people and adults in integration, or workers undergoing retraining. By generating a number of public works contracts worth some 3,5 billion euros in works contracts, the construction of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal will develop activity in the region. The Seine-Nord Europe Canal Grand Construction Initiative, co-led by the Regional Prefect and the President of the Hauts-de-France Region, and which brings together the Departments and all local partners in employment, training, integration and economic development, allows to anticipate and support the creation of this channel, to optimize economic and social benefits. It mobilizes the economic fabric and skills of the territories, so that all residents benefit from it during and after its completion, thanks to the creation of lasting jobs.
