Security: installation of a radar on the RD 66

The Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company (SCSNE) attaches the greatest great importance to safety.

During the work period, it makes every effort to ensure that of local residents, users and personnel working on the worksites.

In sector 1, between Compiègne and Passel, the first works in progress since 2021 are leading road users to move around the work sites. Also, various information and awareness-raising actions were carried out with all audiences (signage, dedicated inserts in publications, messages at public meetings, etc.). Despite these actions, dangerous behaviors are observed, such as speeding approaching the entrances and exits of the construction sites.

It is within this framework and in order to protect road users and the teams carrying out the work that a site radar will be installed on the RD66 between Montmacq and Cambronne-lès-Ribécourt. This will be installed during January 2023 in order to enforce the speed limit set at 70km/h.  

While being functional, this radar is above all installed for preventive purposes. It will be visible and announced. Safety is everyone's business at all times ; it is by being an actor in our travels, by respecting speed limits and by remaining vigilant, that we participate in everyone's safety.
