Preserving the biodiversity of the areas where the future Seine-Nord Europe Canal will be located is a priority. The Canal is designed as a living waterway, a habitat and haven for numerous species . In order to limit its environmental impact, the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company is implementing the "ERC" (Avoid – Reduce – Compensate) sequence , a guideline included in the project file and the Environmental Authorization order, for the implementation of measures that promote the preservation of species and their habitats.
