Visitors turned out in force on Thursday, June 19th for this new edition of the event "The Seine-Nord Europe Canal: An Opportunity for Employment!" . Organized by the partners of Canal Emploi , Canal Formation , and Canal Solidaire , in partnership with the Montmacq town hall, this event allowed many visitors to discover and learn about the various jobs available on the Canal.
A look back at this key event for the development of local employment.
Between machine driving simulators, an introductory workshop and a guided tour of a living base, the immersion was complete for visitors who were able to discover a wide range of construction and public works professions.
"I'm discovering lots of things today, it's great." Although she wasn't naturally drawn to these professions, the event gave Amanda, currently looking for a job, the opportunity to discover an interest in the trades of electrician and painter, for which she was able to obtain more information.
During short guided tours of the Montmacq site base, visitors were able to learn more about the daily lives of the workers on the construction site, discover the essential personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites, and get an overview of the Montmacq spillway construction site.
Visitors were able to talk with training professionals , learn about paving alongside an Elfe Formation trainer, or talk with students from the Ribécourt Horticultural High School about, in particular, landscape worker training, one of the many jobs that are recruiting on the Canal!
For many of them, it was also an opportunity to meet recruitment professionals and submit their applications.
