This Monday, June 23, 2025, a new departmental road, the RD40bis, will be opened in Pimprez.
This new crossing, built over the Oise lateral canal which will be widened and deepened as far as Passel to become the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, is a 78-metre-long metal double-girder* bridge.
The road that runs through it is equipped with a greenway on the north side of the bridge, accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. It will eventually be part of the Trans'Oise cycle route, a greenway developed by the Oise Departmental Council.
This new road now directly connects the RD40 from Bailly and the RD1032 at Ribécourt-Dreslincourt, thus completing the bypass of this town. It also replaces the RD608, which crosses the Oise Lateral Canal in Pimprez and will not be reinstated. This offers the prospect of traffic redistribution by avoiding heavy goods vehicles passing through the towns.
The new route with its new bridge will also facilitate traffic flow around the construction site . These works, carried out as a priority, will ensure continuous traffic flow during the demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the RD40 bridge , thus minimizing the impact of the works on motorists.
The area around the RD40bis has been landscaped with the planting of trees and shrubs. These plantings were carried out at the end of the winter period when the soil is waterlogged to encourage the plants to grow back.
A maintenance phase will be carried out this spring, then this summer, to allow the young subjects to develop properly.
