Guy Fradin is appointed President of the Environmental Observatory

Guy Fradin is honorary general engineer of bridges, water and forests. He was general director of the Seine-Normandie Water Agency for 7 years. His career led him to work at the National Forestry Office, the Ministry of Agriculture where he was deputy to the chief of staff of the Minister of Agriculture, Philippe Vasseur, then at the Ministry of the Environment where he held the positions of director of nature and landscapes, then chief of staff to the Minister of Ecology, Roselyne Bachelot. Guy Fradin is alternate governor of the World Water Council.

He will chair theEnvironmental Observatory, an independent body made up of experts responsible for monitoring the environmental effects of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal project and advising the project owner by promoting the environmental exemplary nature of the project.

Geoffroy Caude is appointed President of the Scientific and Technical Committee

Geoffroy Caude is also a general engineer for bridges, water and forests. A permanent member of the general council for the environment and sustainable development, he held the positions of general delegate within the Union of Ports of France. He also held positions as director within the center for maritime and river technical studies, operations director of the Autonomous Port of Le Havre and deputy director of waterways at the Ministry of Transport. Geoffroy Caude is the president of the AIPCN, the world association for water infrastructure.

He will chair the Scientific and technical committee, which is also an independent body made up of experts in the fields of design and construction of canal works. This body gives opinions to the SCSNE board of directors on the design of the Seine-Nord Europe canal. It decides in particular on proposals for program modifications, the quality of technical solutions, technical optimization of the project, construction costs, management of construction risks and consideration in the design of maintenance and of maintenance.
Made up of three thematic commissions, it brings together 15 high-level experts in the field of hydraulic structures, engineering structures and locks.
