Dialog, called consultation, with local residents and inhabitants of the municipalities crossed by the Canal, began in 2017 at the same time as the preliminary project studies.
All topics are covered, such as the construction of quays and inland ports, the number of bridges to cross the canal, the development of footpaths and cycle paths along the waterway, etc.
Numerous meetings and workshops regularly bring together mayors, business leaders, chambers of commerce and industry (CCI), representatives of farmers, nature protection associations, hunters, fishermen, inhabitants of towns and villages of Hauts-de-France and residents living along the route.
