The recovery of cuttings at the center of discussions between the SCSNE and Unicem

The Société du Canal Seine Nord Europe wishes to encourage modal shift and the recovery of the rubble from the construction site. In this context, it works closely with professionals in theUnion of Quarry and Building Materials Industries Hauts de France, whom she meets regularly.

A working meeting was held on Monday June 25 in Arras to share, in particular, quantitative and qualitative data relating to the management of excess excavated material in sector 1 (Compiègne-Passel).

Discussions also focused on the most effective contractual avenues to implement for balanced relations between diggers and managers of recovery sites.

This meeting was combined with the annual review of the VNF (Voies navigables de France)-UNICEM partnership agreement. The opportunity to address the issues of access to the waterway of the quarry sites, the management of dredged sediments, stoppages (periods during which navigation is stopped to carry out maintenance operations), coordination with Belgium and finally the aid plans for modal shift (PARM) and for modernization and innovation (PAMI), the financing of which has just been recently confirmed, integrating heavy goods (aggregates and cereals).
